We added several high demand speciality equipment to our coating lines, so that our customers can streamline their process and complete more projects at one location. UV Irradiator

UV Irradiator

UV irradiator is a device that generates and irradiates light with wavelengths in the ultraviolet region. UV (ultraviolet) is an electromagnetic wave in the wavelength range of 10~400nm. In coatings, UV is used for the curing reaction of UV-curable resins. The curing reaction of UV-curing resins mainly uses the 250~450 nm region, with most of them being highly sensitive to 365 nm. The UV irradiator we have in our possession uses Heraeus’ electrodeless UV curing system. This UV  curing system offers a choice of two lamps with different peak wavelengths. Those bulbs are called D- and H-bulbs, and their wavelength ranges and their relative intensities are shown in the graph below.

We at MIRWEC have installed the most suitable kneading machine for the dispersion process of powder materials and the dissolution of resins. This mixer is manufactured by “Inoue Seisakusho” in Japan and has one more agitator blade than the conventional planetary mixer. For this reason, the kneading machine is called “Trimix” and is characterized by its ability to apply higher shear stress. This kneader can be used in a wide range of applications, including dispersion of battery materials, dispersion of ceramic powders, and dissolution of high molecular weight resins (high viscosity).

Heated Slot-Die

Heated Slot-die is a coating technology that literally heats the Slot-die while coating. Heated Slot-die is characterized by the ability to coat even high-viscosity solutions at room temperature by reducing their viscosity by heating. Solutions that are very high viscosity and do not flow at room temperature are difficult to coat, but when the solution is heated and the viscosity is lowered, it becomes flow and can be coated.

Tacmina Diaphragm Pumps

Tacmina is a pioneer in pulseless diaphragm pumps. Pulseless flow means flawless coating surface and we use their diaphragm pumps for our Contract Coating Service at MIRWEC on a daily basis. Tacmina offers many different types of pumps, which can become overwhelming and difficult to choose from if you are not familiar with diaphragm pumps. At MIRWEC Coating, we utilize our expertise to assist customers with selecting the perfect pump for their application.
